Follow the function of the assembly
A critical feature is connected to a functional requirement. Identify the fit, position, seal or alignment that depends on it, then reference the corresponding drawing requirement.
Avoid treating an informal note such as “important” as a substitute for an acceptance limit or datum relationship.
Give the check a reference
The inspection scope should point to the current drawing revision and the characteristic being evaluated. Include any required measurement condition or procedure.
For related features, the drawing references explain what must be evaluated together. Clarify questions before the inspection scope is agreed.

Specify the record and extent
State whether your project requires first-piece review, a sampling plan or checks on every part. Identify which characteristics each requirement applies to.
Include the report format and part identification needed by the receiving team. This makes the expected record part of the order scope.
PUT IT INTO PRACTICE
Keep the requirement with the drawing.
Include the current revision, material, quantity and any inspection or finishing requirements when you send your project.
