CUSTOM COMPONENT SERVICES

Shape the part.
Define the finish.

Pockets and profiles. Diameters and fits. The final surface.
Three services, connected by your drawing.

01

Pockets. Profiles. Precision interfaces.

CNC Milling

For housings, brackets & precision plates.

Rotating cutting tools form pockets, slots, hole patterns and profiles in a fixed workpiece. A starting point for housings, brackets, plates and prismatic components.

RECOGNIZE YOUR PART

Pockets · Thin walls · Hole patterns

CRITICAL TO FUNCTION

Datums, internal radii and the relationship between mounting features.

02

Diameters. Shoulders. Mating fits.

CNC Turning

For shafts, sleeves & connecting parts.

The workpiece rotates while a cutting tool forms diameters, bores, shoulders and grooves. A starting point for shafts, bushings, sleeves, flanges and round adapters.

RECOGNIZE YOUR PART

Stepped diameters · Bores · Threads

CRITICAL TO FUNCTION

Mating fits, shoulders and the surfaces that locate or seal.

03

Appearance. Texture. Final surface.

Surface Finishing

For the surface your customer sees.

Define the final surface alongside the machined geometry: cosmetic faces, treatment requirements and areas that must remain protected.

SURFACE REQUIREMENTS

Texture · Color · Protected areas

SPECIFY THE FINISH

Base material, cosmetic references and dimensions after treatment.

ONE COMPONENT, MORE THAN ONE PROCESS

A turned body with milled flats?
A machined housing with a specified finish?

Send the complete component. Include the relationship between features and the final surface requirements so the full supply scope can be reviewed together.

WORKSHOP SCENES

A closer look at the shop floor.

From machine setup to dimensional checks, each area supports a different stage of a machining project.

MATCH THE GEOMETRY

Find the service for your requirement.

A practical starting point for discussion. The complete drawing, material and requirements determine the final manufacturing route.

PREPARE YOUR DRAWING REVIEW

Four inputs for a clear machining
scope.

Send what is available now. Include the requirements that control how the part fits, functions and is delivered.

01

Drawing & revision

Share the 3D model, dimensioned PDF and current part revision.

02

Material & finish

Include the grade, surface specification and masked areas.

03

Critical requirements

Identify fits, datums, threads and required inspection records.

04

Quantity & timing

State prototype and repeat quantities, plus your target date.

STEP / STP model + dimensioned PDF, where available.

MACHINING QUESTIONS

Before your
process review.

Common questions when defining a custom machining project.

No. Send the model or drawing with the part’s function and critical requirements. Geometry, tool access, workholding and the required features determine the process route to review.

Yes. A round component can also have flats, slots or off-axis holes. Include all features in the model and drawing so the complete manufacturing scope can be assessed together.

Identify the datums, mating fits and dimensions that control function. State the inspection points and records required. Achievable requirements are confirmed for the specific geometry, material and process route.

Yes. List each quantity against the same drawing revision and include the target dates. Pricing, lead time and any changes in manufacturing scope are confirmed during quotation.
